Just a memory

To never stop loving ❤

Just a memory,
she convinced her lover
the latest one,
as she came back to him,
his smell,his touch,
her own senses still locked
in a far away thought,
of another time,
another lost smile
as she stood alone
and mourned the death
of first innocent love,
of mushy words
that she actually meant,
not just then..

But now it is,
just a memory
she convinces herself.

It's not the dramas or the stories, but actually the people touched by them who taught me how to appreciate these stories, the different medium of expressions, and how to believe that even fictional characters can give hope and smile to so many people around the world. A reader first and obsessive reviewer of things I love, I write when I am deeply touched by a story or a moment. You can find most of my ideas and thoughts first expressed on Twitter - @i_read_write

  1. a first love is always what you measure other’s with… I’m lucky to still live with my first one … but I can see how hard it would be if I had to ever change that. Great soft writing in your poem..

  2. I get a little cynical at times about first loves – how would Romeo and Juliet look thirty years down the line, living in poverty, with a dozen squalling kids? But you convey well that nostalgia, that sense of wonderment and ‘what if’, the freshness of it all.

  3. Wow, so true dear so true, i wrote many similar works for the first love’s thoughts are always recurrent, one can’t just get them out of your head,
