I hid your name
in the extra spoon of sugar,
i added to my coffee;
in the smell of wet grass
i walked over in winters,
in the yellow flowers
you loved to give,
in the lines of the book
you suggested to read.
I hid your name
and never said it aloud
till he whispered in my ear
you can let the secret out.
I never knew I would heal
once i talked of the hurt
what i thought as invincible
he banished it from my heart.
Very true…letting go and speaking it out is the way of life!
Beautifully written

So honest, tender and elegantly put together
I like the way this poem goes about its work–very effective–and some lovely lines and images throughout.
love, love, love “I hid your name
in the extra spoon of sugar,
i added to my coffee;” – it has such an original feel and grabbed me at once! one hell of an opening line! great write here
It always feels better ( not completely) after talking/writing of such hurt. It truly is freeing. Nice pen. Well conveyed.

Wonderful poem. The pain then the healing release from it. Very nicely done.

I love this idea of hiding the essence of someone dear in blades of grass and spoons of sugar…anything to make those feelings tangible, this is lovely.
The first three lines…absolutely perfect.
Loved,loved,loved this one.
Beautifully expressed…!
